Create PowerPoint presentation using DWF

There are many methods for placing an AutoCAD drawing inside a PowerPoint document. In most situations we place a static image of our drawing file in the slide (and we ask that our customer, for any reason, don't ask us to enlarge the design).

In person, found the best way to view an AutoCAD drawing in PowerPoint - the file format DWF. DWF viewer allows to do zoom, pan, viewing and printing multiple designs within the same slide PowerPoint.

Here are the steps to do it:

  1. First you need to create a DWF file from the drawing file you want to present in PowerPoint. If you don't work with the latest versions of AutoCAD or if you want to create a DWF file from a product from another manufacturer, you can do download free of Autodesk® DWF™ Writer.

  2. Knife download of the free DWF file viewer – Autodesk® DWF™ Viewer.
  3. No slide where do you want to insert the drawing files, select the menu Insert > Object. Select Autodesk DWF Viewer Control from the dialog window. an object icon DWF will appear in the center of slide.

  4. Now you need to specify which DWF file you want to insert into PowerPoint for viewing. Execute right-click on the icon and select Autodesk DWF Viewer Control Properties from the menu. Use the button Browse to select the intended DWF file.

Note: You will only see your drawing once PowerPoint is in presentation mode.

You will find that you can do zoom, pan and browse through the various sheets of the DWF file within your PowerPoint presentation – very impressive! Will be, surely, the envy of your colleagues!
