An overhead crane is a load-lifting machine that travels along a track and moves a winch carriage in a transverse position.. This equipment is mounted indoors or outdoors, moving matters, loads, parts, equipment among others. I carry out the design of the structure and mechanisms, macro, members of the overhead crane. The ABNT NBR standard is adopted 8400/1984 – Calculation of equipment for lifting and handling loads. 3D modeling software are used, SolidWoks, AutoCAD and Ftool Calculation Verification Software. Based on the standard, ABNT NBR 8400/1984 calculations are performed to determine and size the main components of the single beam crane: capacity, classification of structures, mechanism classification, velocity, beam section, minimum cable diameter, pulley diameter, drum diameter and length. The service provided enables the sizing and selection of the main components that make up a single-beam overhead crane.
