Wire EDM machining (EDM), like other EDM techniques, employs an electrically charged wire immersed in dielectric fluid to precisely cut and shape conductive materials. Unlike methods that use a molded electrode, wire EDM introduces a thin copper or brass wire, guiding it along the specified trajectory to erode the material. As the electrical discharges begin to melt or vaporize the part, the wire follows a CNC-programmed path, creating complex profiles.
